What is Worms (Intestinal Parasites)?

Intestinal worms in cats include roundworms (most common, passed from mother or environment), tapeworms (from eating fleas or rodents), and hookworms. Symptoms include diarrhea, vomiting, weight loss, pot belly, dull coat, and seeing worms in stool or vomit. Tapeworm segments look like rice grains near anus. Diagnosis via fecal exam. Treatment is deworming medication specific to worm type. Kittens need regular deworming. Outdoor cats at higher risk.
