What is Fleas and Ticks?

Fleas cause severe itching, hair loss, flea allergy dermatitis, tapeworms, and anemia (especially kittens). Signs include scratching, visible fleas or flea dirt, scabs, and hair loss. Prevention is key: monthly topical or oral flea prevention year-round. Treatment includes killing fleas on cat, treating all pets in home, washing bedding, vacuuming frequently, and sometimes environmental sprays. Ticks are less common but transmit diseases.
