What is Ear Infections?

Feline ear infections cause itching, head shaking, ear discharge, odor, and redness. Most common cause is ear mites (especially in kittens). Bacterial and yeast infections also occur. Diagnosis involves ear examination and sometimes culture. Treatment includes ear cleaning and medication drops specific to the cause.
