What is Anxiety?

Feline anxiety is excessive fear or stress response to various triggers including changes in environment, new people or pets, loud noises, or past trauma. Signs include hiding, aggression, over-grooming, loss of appetite, inappropriate urination, and excessive vocalization. Diagnosis involves ruling out medical causes and behavioral assessment. Treatment includes environmental modifications, Feliway pheromone diffusers, behavioral training, play therapy, and sometimes anti-anxiety medication. Creating calm, predictable routines helps reduce anxiety.
